The Millennium Development Goals Tour

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Tour is a goodwill tour of Canadian and American business schools sponsored by TalentedWomen.com.  The year 2007 marked the halfway date for achieving the MDGs and the tour was to promote awareness and action on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Graduate and undergraduate business students were empowered to act locally - to make a difference to a local charity such as food banks, shelters or other — and globally, by taking action on one of the MDGs in support of developing countries. During each visit the results of local activities and actions on MDGs were announced and posted to further empower students around North America and beyond.

The MDG Tour was developed by Wendy Kohler Boothman, Founder, TalentedWomen.com and Dr. Kirsty Duncan, Adjunct Professor, University of Toronto.

“It is our hope that participation in the Millennium Development Goals Tour will be rewarding and inspiring, and will incite future business leaders to go beyond their legal obligations, compliance issues, and take action on key issues—including education, the environment, human health and poverty—that affect both their local community and the world at large.”
